Hello Monday – May 25, 2020
Welcome to Hello Monday, the weekly, company-wide show for the volunteer-run 501(c)3 nonprofit, Blue Legacy. We were founded in 1989 to empower underrepresented storytellers, bring diverse people together, and make storytelling accessible across all mediums.
Every Monday we share all the announcements, casting calls, job openings and news for our four divisions that each focus on a different medium: Blue Forge Films, Blue Forge Press, Blue Forge Gaming, and Blue Forge Records.
If you are one of the artisans who work with us – an author, musician, game designer, filmmaker or actor – keeping up with Hello Monday keeps you in the loop. And you don’t have to watch: You can just listen to the episode or you can read the transcript at www.tiny.cc/hellomondayblog
My name is Brianne DiMarco and I’m an editor and composer at Blue Forge. I’m also your host for today’s episode. My thanks to Faith DiMarco, the dedicated editor of Hello Monday as well as an actor and producer at Blue Forge.

One Room Film Festival Discount. We announced the One Room Film Festival last week and you can find out all the information about the six awards and the cash prize at FilmFreeway, but just for watching Hello Monday, you can use code LEGACY89 to take $5 off your submission fee May 25 through June 25. That’s L-E-G-A-C-Y-8-9. [LEGACY89]
This is our way to say thank you for watching Hello Monday and staying in the loop. Because by staying in the loop, you make our job easier... which means we have more time to work on your projects.
Find all the details at the URL on the screen. [www.filmfreeway.com/oneroomfilmfestival]

Join Live Stories. Sell More Books. On Tuesday, May 19, we launched a new series [www.tiny.cc/bluelive] called Live Stories. In this series, authors read one of their short stories from any anthology published by Blue Forge Press. Authors read the story as if giving a reading at a bookstore – so they introduce themselves, they share a little information about how they came to write the story and then they read the story “live” – we don’t edit out any stumbles or hiccups so the reading is uncensored and authentic. After the reading is finished, authors talk a little more to their watchers – all just like at a great bookstore reading.
This is a series for adult listeners with new episodes added every Tuesday... or whenever we have them turned in. We add an opener to the video and add purchase links at the end. Authors never have to talk about buying or selling – just give a great reading.
If you’re interested in joining the Live Stories series, please write to Jennifer and ask for more details. She can set you up with all the guidelines and talk to you about how to send us your video file. [firstname.lastname@example.org]

Technical Help. We’ve recently realized that 30% of our artisans are struggling with technical issues that most of us take for granted. Comment below or email your division manager if you would find video tutorials for these subjects helpful:
How to download a video off your phone.
How to download an email attachment and then find it on your computer.
How to stop your phone or camera from refocusing in the middle of a shot.
Or are there other technical issues that you’ve been running into? Let us know!

That’s all the news for this week. If you have questions or would like us to cover something next Monday, please don’t hesitate to write to us at email@example.com or post a comment below.
And remember: Monday doesn’t have to be a day you dread. Monday can be the first day in the best creative week of your life.
