Hello Monday – May 18, 2020
Welcome to Hello Monday, the weekly, company-wide show for the volunteer-run 501(c)3 nonprofit, Blue Legacy. We were founded in 1989 to empower underrepresented storytellers, bring diverse people together, and make storytelling accessible across all mediums.
Every Monday we share all the announcements, casting calls, job openings and news for our four divisions that each focus on a different medium: Blue Forge Films, Blue Forge Press, Blue Forge Gaming, and Blue Forge Records.
If you are one of the artisans who work with us – an author, musician, game designer, filmmaker or actor – keeping up with Hello Monday keeps you in the loop. And you don’t have to watch: You can just listen to the episode or you can read the transcript at www.tiny.cc/hellomondayblog
My name is Brianne DiMarco and I’m an editor, author and composer at Blue Forge. I’m also your host for today’s episode. My thanks to Faith DiMarco, the dedicated editor of Hello Monday as well as an actor and producer at Blue Forge.

Join Us Online May 30. We really can’t talk enough about the new BlueFlix Cinema. BlueFlix has always been an important part of Blue Forge for the last two years. BlueFlix is where people can find our work and rent it to watch instantly online or purchase it on dvd or as a digital download. But BlueFlix Cinema will finally allow us to hold our own premieres online in real time with everyone watching at once. Plus there’s an online after-party after any premiere where yuo can talk with the cast and crew of any project.
Please consider joining us at 7pm PST, on Saturday, May 30, for the inaugural premiere at BlueFlix Cinema. It’s a very special event because the premiere is for our short film, Sound & Silence, that features many Blue Forge artisans from different divisions; Blue Forge authors, musicians, and actors fill the cast!
Tickets are only $5 and you can find out about not just the May 30th event but our next two premieres at www.tiny.cc/blueflixcinema

One Room Film Festival. One room. One actor. Both brand new and established filmmakers are welcome. Blue Forge is testing out a partnership with FilmFreeway for our fourth incarnation of our series of film festivals that result in anthology dvds. We’ve done the Blackwood, St. August Chapel, and Wonderland festivals that are now all available on dvd at Amazon and also available to rent instantly or buy digitally at BlueFlix (www.tiny.cc/blueflix).
One Room Film Festival will be a little different from our past anthology-bound festivals. There are more prizes – Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Original Score, Best Cinematography, Best Film, and Audience Choice. There’s even a cash prize for Best Film! Only the winning films will be included on the dvd but all filmmakers of those films will retain their rights and get an equal share of the revenue earned.
There’s only one way to submit a film to the One Room Film Festival – at FilmFreeway: The #1 platform for film festival submission in the world. So find all the details at www.filmfreeway.com/oneroomfilmfestival

Don’t CC Multiple Blue Forge Accounts. Please never cc several divisions when you send an email to Blue Forge. And please don’t send duplicate emails to different divisions.
If you are writing about a film project, please only write to email@example.com.
If you are writing about a book project, please only write to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you need to ask us one question about a film project and one question about a book project, please send two different emails. We are not all in the office at the same time. And we don’t all know what’s going on with every division.
To that end, if I ask you for an author photo for your book and Jennifer asks you for a photo for your acting resume, please send the photo to me and send it again to Jennifer. Think of the different divisions as different companies. They keep their own records and track their own files.
As for email@example.com... send email to firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like us to cover something in Hello Monday, or if you have a question about royalties or legal matters such as subsidiary rights sales or heirs.

That’s all the news for this week. If you have questions or would like us to cover something next Monday, please don’t hesitate to write to us at email@example.com or post a comment below.
And remember: Monday doesn’t have to be a day you dread. Monday can be the first day in the best creative week of your life.
