Sound & Silence

Short Film

Rated 18+

54 minutes

For more than forty years, Riley has lived a quiet life. Maybe her mother was right: Being a black woman in America is hard enough without being gay, too. But when Roxanne auditions as a singer at the speak easy where Riley works as a bartender, Riley’s life is turned inside out. Exploring the complicated terrain of self-worth and discovery, Sound & Silence is an original short film by Jennifer DiMarco, starring Geraldine Alsup Bowers and Leah Kelley, and created in partnership with the Blue Village acting troupe. This film has complete captions.
